Natasha grew up in Northeast Arkansas in a small town called Cherokee Village. She graduated from the Donaghey Scholars program in 2015, went on to medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, and later specialized in psychiatry. She is now core faculty at the Baptist Health-UAMS Psychiatry Residency program. Most of her adult life has been spent in central Arkansas, and the DSP has been a pivotal part of her journey. Even now, she uses her education from the scholars program in philosophy, art, and sociology to teach residents through a Psychiatric Humanities curriculum that she has incorporated into resident didactics, with the aim to teach future psychiatrists observational skills rooted in critical thinking and analysis. Natasha also has a special interest in metabolic health and nutrition as they relate to mental health. In her downtime, she enjoys cooking, baking, spending time with her family, reading, and traveling!
"Having strong mentors through my journey was a major part of my success, and as I have found myself in the mentorship role at times, I always recommend the Donaghey Scholars Program to students looking for a well rounded education and path toward career success."
