Joe Jones, “The Struggle in the South”
The Struggle in the South is a 1935 mural by Joe Jones that depicts the hardships of Southerners during the Great Depression. Originally created for Commonwealth College in Arkansas, it was later neglected, found in fragments, and eventually restored. Since 2018, the mural has been on permanent display at UA Little Rock Downtown, where it also serves as an educational resource for schools.
