Kristi Wallace Smith earned her bachelor of arts in international studies through the Donaghey Scholars Program, later adding a master of public administration. Her years as a Scholar included study in Strasbourg, France, and left her with a lasting love of writing and travel. She began her career with AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, where she was named to the Circle of Excellence for sales performance, before moving into higher education advancement. As associate vice chancellor for alumni and development at UA Little Rock, she has led alumni engagement, annual giving, planned giving, and corporate and foundation relations. In November 2026 she becomes vice chancellor for institutional advancement at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, serving as chief advancement officer and a member of the chancellor's executive cabinet.
